Castle Rouge and Saxville Avenue
Detroit's Castle Rouge is a mammoth brick building erected in 1928 by Catholic Passionist Fathers. Many refer to it as a historical jewel. It served as a gathering place for Civil War veterans. Today, it is a symbol of yesterday's memories and today's untold stories. Glowing with classical architectural design on the outside and expert artistic design on the inside, it is perfect for weddings, receptions and special events.
Saxville Avenue, under the ownership of Saxophonist Duane Parham, is a publishing company with music spanning several decades. Known locally, nationally and internationally, Saxville Avenue employs some of the world's greatest musicians.

Works by the organization include Motor City Sax Appeal: My Tribute to the Motown Legends, with appearances by The Four Tops, The Miracles, The Contours, The Original Vandellas, Pat Lewis, Carolyn Crawford and five-time Grammy Award Winner Michael J. Powell. Detroit City is Coming Back, published also by Saxville Avenue and penned by Parham, is a song that reaches across racial, ethnic and political lines, and promotes the Motor City nationally and internationally.
Saxville Avenue added to its repertoire The Unsung Musicians of the Motown Empire, a documentary that keeps the Motown Sound alive in the hearts and minds of not only contemporaries, but generations to come.
The Partnership
Why the partnership of Castle Rouge and Saxville Avenue? Both stand as historical symbols of artistic design and current cultural events that capture the attention of music and art lovers in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Combining their skillsets to further this cause, will contribute to the growth of surrounding neighborhoods and enhance visitation of suburban neighbors to Detroit.
Castle Rouge offers structural elegance and charm, outside acreage for festivals, concerts, floor plans adorned with character and menus for corporate and private events. The Chapel is prime for Saxville Avenue's 2025 Christmas Event entitled "The Three Kings of Castle Rouge," currently in its planning stage.
Saxville Avenue foresees a performance of its latest song release, "Voices Whispering in the Wind," in the building's 400-seat room in early 2026. The Duane Parham Society has decades of experience conducting events, working with area musicians and children ages 6 to 18 through its partner Educational Arts Society.

Looking Ahead with New Ideas

As the partnership of Castle Rouge and Saxville Avenue expands, new thoughts and ideas will pave the way for growth and development. Working together, both parties will co-brand events, share press releases, promotions, ad placements and social media exposure. Their goal: To bring audiences far and wide into the castle and "rock their world" with entertainment . . . like no other.
