EASE or DIS-EASE

Ease or Dis-Ease: Which is it? What do they mean? A common mistake is to label one as mental and the other as physical. The truth is. . . both are mental.

Ease means to be" free of discomfort or worry"--having a good feeling inside. Whereas dis-ease or disease is described as "an abnormal condition of a part, organ, or system of an organism resulting from various causes, such as infection, inflammation, environmental factors, or genetic defect." Clearly, one can see "ease" has a mental connotation and "disease" has a physical one. This article seeks to open thought to seeing both as mental. How do we do that?

A Picture of Ease

Images of ease or dis-ease: Several images depicting a person at ease were studied. Most revealed a person similar to the image above, some smiling others not smiling, but all portrayed no physical defects. They revealed an image with the person "feeling good." To feel good is to experience no discomfort, discontent, resentment or any negative thoughts and feelings.

A Picture of Dis-ease

The image above depicts a diseased condition that could be associated with a cold or sinus trouble. In choosing a picture depicting disease, care was taken to not choose an image that revealed some of humanity's worst conditions. The focus here is simply to support the idea that mankind tends to believe all dis-ease is physical. However, such a belief is not rooted in the idea that, "as a man thinketh, so is he." This article does support that idea.

Thinking Promotes Action

Thoughts of goodness, kindness, respect, joy, peace and comfort yield results that parallel those thoughts. Similarly, thoughts of anger, hate, evil, pride and disrespect generate disturbed actions in experience. Those actions may be in the form of heart failure, diabetes, cancer, floods, storms or other catastrophes. This view primarily, is not what the medical world espouses. It leads mankind to believe that dis-ease in thought is not directly related to dis-ease in experience. So, correction is related to healing the physical structure, not the disturbed thought. What has happened? Diseases continue to multiply!

Ease or Dis-ease: Change Thought, Change Results

Humans have a responsibility to eradicate crime, diseases and atmospheric disasters. It can be achieved by replacing "bad thoughts" with "good thoughts." Will it be easy? No! The world has been indoctrinated to believe that "things just happen." We are either lucky or unlucky. Nah-ah-ah . . . that is not the case. All evil results are tied to evil thinking. We can contribute to good results by changing our own thoughts. When you get the urge to point a gun at someone, know that you can "help the world" by replacing that thought with a deeper love for all mankind.

If one has lived in the past 50 years, it is easy to see the erosion of moral values not only in America, but the world. Where is that "peace be still" attitude that calmed the tempest? The almighty dollar has become a god and the trusty gun our safety. Communication is "slamming our brothers and sisters," and truth is whatever we say is true. We elect leaders who should not lead a family, and certainly not a nation. Tornadoes, floods, fires, viruses and murder are constant human experiences. Have we asked ourselves why? Do we believe we can escape consequences for our actions? We cannot!

How do we get a handle on "ease or dis-ease?" Correct thinking with higher levels of thought!
