It is not the profession you claim that makes a great dad, it's the qualities you express in doing it.

Happy Father's Day! As a female, it is not possible to feel like a father...but I imagine it is similar to feeling like a mother. Knowing you assisted in bringing a human life into the world can generate joy and a strong sense of accomplishment.

This article will be short and sweet. Why? Its main purpose is to showcase the most important men in my life on Father's Day! So... here goes.

David the Designer & Teacher

David is the youngest of three children: A daughter and two (2) sons. He is an automotive designer, turned designer-teacher. David's years at GM and Chrysler equipped him with skills as a designer, but more importantly, as a caring person. Key ingredients are honesty, integrity and courage. Sometimes, it is difficult to disagree with the status quo because people will like you better, but integrity forces you to do so. Being true to yourself is the key to being true to all selves.

Stephen Guides His Son with Grace and Love

Stephen is the eldest of three (3) children. He spent several years working in the automotive industry. During earlier years, he played "a mean clarinet." Today, admiration comes as I observe him as he guides his son through the ups and downs of life. It is not unusual to hear him say to that son, "Buddie, you may need to rethink that!" In all cases, the "that" was not in the right direction as he so lovingly was pointing out.

Brothers, I Hold Dear

Brothers Robert, Lonnie and Tyrone have learned how to maneuver around the curves of life and land in paths that may not always be straight but certainly, help teach lessons to older sis. They are knowledgeable, kind and fun. I enjoy seeing their names pop up on the phone or TV! Why? Because I know they will sow seeds of joy! Happy Father's Day, guys!
